    3. Peter, I see that you have had no reply to your questions, so I will put in my vague information in case it assists. Catherine Hedley b C1835 d 1909 and buried Yack'. On the various birth certificates for 11 children, she gave her maiden name as Kennedy on some and Whiteford on others and named one of the younger ones William Whiteford Hedley. However, she told my grandmother, her grandd-in-law, who was interested in recording such things, that her maiden name was Delaney or Devaney and that is what was recorded until I started to check records. Catherine could not read or write and signed her name on the marriage certificate with a X but gave her maiden name as Whiteford - parents Ann Kennedy and Andrew Whiteford. I have not been able to find any records for these. Hope this is of some use.
