    3. Had a look at all my maps Denise could only find the Ovens on them. Maybe Judy can help as her father lives at Milewa next door to there. I will also ask my mum when I talk to her today as she knows that area well Kerry ----- Original Message ----- From: "Denise" <denisem@powerup.com.au> To: <AUS-VIC-HIGH-COUNTRY-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Saturday, October 02, 2004 10:19 PM Subject: [HC] Maps Hi all Hoping someone has a map of the Everton district from the 1880-1900 times which shows creeks off the Ovens River. I am interested in the area east of the township of Everton, as it is now. I have some wonderful photos of the property Brookfield and it's buildings at Everton. Behind the sheds and kilns I notice what appears to be water, ie creek as it is long, and upon clipping and enlarging I see the gums on the bank and reeds growing. However the parish map does not show any creeks. it is not the Ovens River, as that is visible in another photo just behind the photographer who was up the windmill taking shots in all directions. The reason I ask is that next March at the exhibition in B/worth the Crawford family have been given approval to go onto Brookfield and wander around. I am trying to place these buildings in relation to roads creeks and the river. This will be an attempt to find the remnants if any of the buildings, which sadly do not stand today - main house and surrounding buildings, the windmill and all the worker's houses and the kilns the drying sheds and store and stables and other things that were on the property. D

    3. That is great thanks Kerry. Hoping to eliminate a lot of walking for some of the more senior of the family.
