    3. Carmel I agree with Kerry, Waterloo is the Barwidgee Creek area. There was a sign erected some years ago identifying Waterloo. Some of my lot were from Waterloo (the Gunson line) Some of the births are registered in Yackandandah, some in Myrtleford and only the last three children do you find on the birth certificate the place as Waterloo. ian payne

    3. Dear List, Thank you to all those that offered to check the Burke Museum for me in respect of availability of the books. Given the price, which I believe is $60, unfortunately the budget for things genealogical is a bit thin at the moment. I am trying to finish off my Mother's fathers family, Fogarty's (from good Irish Catholic stock, hence many many children) and saving to go for two months in England, Scotland and Ireland in October/Nov, wandering around graveyards and churches. It may have to wait until my next months allowance comes through. The response is much appreciated, and if there are none left, it will be my fault. Re the Football, just glad to see that the Wilberforces obviously opted for the more "genteel" sports. They must have done some mining during the football season. Happy Belated Birthday to Denise, and again many thanks for the OMA snippets. Carol Dale Researching the Cricketing Wilberforce's and the very Elusive and reclusive Prismalls.

    3. Mel, I think you probably should speak/email with Maureen De Bolfo. She was on the list for a couple of years. Not now. I think I have the story right when I saw one James and Agnes children Emma married Mick Dougherty the famous coach driver for Crawford & co. Maureen chasing his life and finding lots on the Jeffs. There is a grave in Beechworth in need of a lot of repair, which I saw last year, not far from the Rotunda. The Jeffs lived in John St. In the past I've posted to the list a bit of material on the Jeffs, so a search over the past few years may help you, but other than that if you like I will forward your email to Maureen I'll dig up the Fisho ad for you soon. 2. Hi List, The graveyard Ray mentions may be the old Woolshed Cemetary. I was looking for it earlier as one of my rellies was supposedly buried there. There are now holiday cottages on the site. I don't know if the remains were relocated before the cottages were built on top. This information was provided by the Burke Museum. Ray - looking at my mining map of B/worth area I see an old grave yard on the Beechworth Chiltern road near Woolshed Falls.

I wrote to the Burke Museum asking how to purchase it, but received no reply. Would appreciate information about whether it is still available and cost. Only asking as the Burke Museum dont seem to want to reply. Carol Dale

    3. Brain and Muscle - during the past few days we have had a practical exemplification of the fact that B/worth can produce young men possessed of both brain and muscular power in a high degree. On Friday Mr I A Isaacs son of Mr. Isaacs of Ford street and who was educated in the town made his debut as a barrister in the Beechworth court of General Sessions; he having been retained with Mr F Brown to appear in support of a motion to admit a claim made by the Norwich Union Insurance Co upon the insolvent estate of Mr. E S Harris which was granted by the judge after hearing arguments reported in another column. Mr. Isaacs gives great promise of becoming a leading member of his profession; and his appearance in wig and gown on Friday should have the effect of stimulating other young men in the town to follow in his footsteps and persevere as he has done in what ever walk in life they may select. ----- Original Message ----- From: "MM" <elthamlax@techinfo.com.au> To: <AUS-VIC-HIGH-COUNTRY-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Monday, June 28, 2004 12:13 PM Subject: Re: [HC] OMA 11.8.83 - ISAACS > Only if it is not too much for you to type. > Date was 11th August, 1883. > Thank you, > Mary > > ----- Original Message ----- > From: "Denise" <denisem@powerup.com.au> > To: <AUS-VIC-HIGH-COUNTRY-L@rootsweb.com> > Sent: Sunday, June 27, 2004 8:29 PM > Subject: Re: [HC] OMA 11.8.83 - ISAACS > > > > News item - do you want it in full Mary?
