Hi Wendy, Thanks for the reply, I have the birth of those 3 children, but on Alice Walsh's birth cert it shows Ellen Hart nee Mahoney as having 4 living children, so there is still a missing child, not to mention Williams death. In 1858 Ellen was 40 making her birth date as 1818 so there is a huge age difference with William who died in 1847 aged 42. Do you think this is likely? I also wonder why he would have been in Brighton at the time of his death. I will get the death certificate for William, hopefully it may give us a clue. Thanks again, Zola ----- Original Message ----- From: "Wendy" <wendyfensom@optusnet.com.au> To: <AUS-VIC-HIGH-COUNTRY-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Tuesday, September 07, 2004 11:13 PM Subject: Re: [HC] Hart > Hi Zola, > > My guess is that it could be one of these two - probably the second one. > The parish aligns with the birth of the daughter (registered in 1849) even > though your record shows 1848. Hi Zola, My guess is that it could be one of these two - probably the second one. The parish aligns with the birth of the daughter (registered in 1849) even though your record shows 1848. So he may have died late in 1847 - after the child was conceived. It looks as though there were two other children as well (see below). Back in those days people often took a long time to get around to registering births, and don't forget, the Registry Office did not commence until December 1853 (I think) so these are old church records. Can anyone help me find the death of William HART. I have a b/cert for a child Alice Walsh born to Ellen Mahoney - widow of William Hart in 1858 at Wangaratta. Ellen's & William Hart's previous chid was born in 1848 at Ovens River. So some time between 1848 & 1858 William is purported to have died. Zola
Hi Ronda, There is a Alexander Hayes, died 1859, aged 45, Father unknown. That's the only Alexander I can see. Lets know if you have any more details to go on. Hi Listers My Patrick RATH came to Oz as a guard on a convict ship, 'Lady Nugent' in 1835. His first three children were born in UK, the fourth aboard ship, and the last four in NSW. The first died in Condoblin NSW, the next five in Beechworth, the seventh in the Ovens Dist Hospital, and my ancestor, Catherine (Kate) died in Orbost. The children were: Mary b 1828 Derby ENG d 1922 Condoblin NSW (Cornelius BYRUM) Thomas b 1830 Lancs ENG d 1886 Beechworth (Annie GILCHRIST) Anne b ca 1832 Dublin d 1867 Beechworth (Unknown) John b ca 1833 aboard ship d 1901 Beechworth (Bridget SWEENEY) Margaret b 1837 NSW d 1885 Beechworth (Unknown) Michael b 1838 Sydney d 1921 Beechworth (Catherine Unknown) Patrick (jnr) b ca1843 d 1913 Ovens Hospital (Unknown) Catherine b 1845 Sydney d 1930 Orbost (Thomas John McHENRY) Names in brackets are spouses. I am almost certain Patrick Sen had a brother John, in Forbes NSW as there was much to-ing and fro-ing between both families. If anyone has any further information about this family, I would love to exchange information with you. Regards Irene R

In my spare time (whatever this is) I am working on the UK cenus team. and thought I should pass this message on from our forum ----------------------------------------------- Dear All, My workplace has just annouced that they are going to pull a particular model of microfiche reader out of service. This was due to an incident of electric shock. The model is the Canon 300L universal microfiche reader. As they are quitting all 300L's the problem appears to be inherent in all. If you have one of these machines, I suggest that you get it checked over by a reliable electrician. regards gabrielle Argyllshire Coordinator --------------------------------------------------- Regards Kerry ----- Original Message ----- From: "Denise" <denisem@powerup.com.au> To: <AUS-VIC-HIGH-COUNTRY-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Saturday, September 04, 2004 9:16 AM Subject: [HC] Western Aust - marriages http://www.openwindows.com/marriage/search.htm from GENANZ list - for those who had relations vanish into W.A. reverse marriage look ups. Hi Zola, Your mother may have been a bit early for my cousins, but have contacted a friend who has a copy of the school rolls and he is going to look the names up for us. The cost of the book is $40-00, postage I don't know, as I haven't an address for you, or weight for the book. Cheers Ray. ----- Original Message ----- From: Zola Ortenburg <zolaortenburg@bigpond.com> To: <AUS-VIC-HIGH-COUNTRY-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Thursday, September 02, 2004 7:07 AM Subject: Re: [HC] Book Launch re: Edi History 1850 - 2002 > Hello Ray, > > My mothers name was Ella (Nell) BEACH, she came from a large family Ivy, > George, Olive, Gladys, Doris, Henry (Roy) & Allison.
