Thanks Mary for the thought. I don't know of any family buried in Utah but it's very interesting and Ishall keep it filed just in case. Anthony, I'm pretty sure that the Prahran Mechanics Institute has this book. They have their catalogue online Sue.
Would anyone have a copy of 'Hamlets in the Hills' by William MUSK. I've checked with the SLV however they dont have that book. I am curious to know if there is anything on 'Rocky Point' within William Musk's research? Hi Denise, I have some old letters on loan. A couple are written from Riverslea, Tallandoon. There is one written in Sept 1922 by Janie Smith, to Alice Blewett, and she signs off with 'your cousin Janie Smith'. Sarah Jane Hays married a Smith, as did James Hays/Hayes Jan 3rd 1902 Hayes - Smith On the 30th December at Tallangatta by the Reverend W.H. Steele, James, eldst son of Archibald Hayes, Osbornes Flat to Josephine M. (Josie), fourth daughter of William Smith, Tallandoon. This wouldn't be the same William Smith who purchased some of C&C when it was being wound up, would it? Tallandoon and Yack aren't exactly close. Thanks Denise Looking at the photos and comparing them with my parents photos, I think that it is the marriage to Les Bales. Hi A couple of weeks ago I was helping cleaning out my great aunts house as she has moved into a nursing home (she's 101 1/2) and I found a couple of old wedding photos and I didn't recognise the people. I asked my aunt and she squinted at the photos and told me that one was a picture of Wal Redman and Rae Stewart's wedding. They were neighbours/acquaintances at Sandy Creek. The photo (sepia) looks like the 1920's or 30's. I've had a look at Digger and as the wedding index only goes to 1920 it wasn't there. I have found a Leslie Rae Stewart born 1914 in Bright, daughter of Alf Stewart and Julie Hamel. There is also a ref which indicates that she died at Coburg in 1949, age 35. The Digger index didn't help much with Wal Redman. The other photo is just of the bride and is in black and white. My aunt told me that this was Eileen Summers, a neighbour of hers at Sandy Creek. This photo has the bride in a long white gown with a very long train spread across the floor. Digger unearthed two Eileen Summers, one b 1920 at Avoca (d of alex and Anabell Harris, or b1920 at Geelong, daughter of Fanny Summers. As these people aren't part of my family I'd like the photos to go to someone who would appreciate them - does anyone on the list want them? Cheers Brian
Lovely thought Brian, hope your photographs find "their Family". Well done.
