Hi Denise, I have some old letters on loan. A couple are written from Riverslea, Tallandoon. There is one written in Sept 1922 by Janie Smith, to Alice Blewett, and she signs off with 'your cousin Janie Smith'. Sarah Jane Hays married a Smith, as did James Hays/Hayes Jan 3rd 1902 Hayes - Smith On the 30th December at Tallangatta by the Reverend W.H. Steele, James, eldst son of Archibald Hayes, Osbornes Flat to Josephine M. (Josie), fourth daughter of William Smith, Tallandoon. This wouldn't be the same William Smith who purchased some of C&C when it was being wound up, would it? Tallandoon and Yack aren't exactly close. I asked my aunt and she squinted at the photos and told me that one was a picture of Wal Redman and Rae Stewart's wedding. They were neighbours/acquaintances at Sandy Creek. The photo (sepia) looks like the 1920's or 30's. I've had a look at Digger and as the wedding index only goes to 1920 it wasn't there. I have found a Leslie Rae Stewart born 1914 in Bright, daughter of Alf Stewart and Julie Hamel. There is also a ref which indicates that she died at Coburg in 1949, age 35.
