    3. I'm hoping for a little assistance. I'm looking for the cemetary that Carl Philip Albert Stomann was buried at. He died 1889 at Byawatha but may be intered at Wangaratta or Barnawatha, or was there a cametary at Byawatha; and his wife Marie Augustina nee Rudemann died 1880 at Byawatha. Also the inquest, if carried out, for their son, Otto Wilhelm Stomann, died 1918 at Barnawatha. He may have succumbed to the Spanish Flu. Thanks Pam

    3. Thanks, Denise for the suggestions... I should have explained: the man enquiring was a hall committee member; no go with the pubs, and we'd already checked the Yack Museum. 3. I was speaking today with a member of a long-time family of Allan's Flat, who is upset at not being able to trace three large old sports competition cups which had been on display in the Allans Flat Hall for many years in a special cabinet. The hall was demolished in about 1975, and someone probably took them for safe-keeping at that time but their whereabouts is now a mystery! I know it's a long shot, but if anyone can throw any light on where they might be, the community would be very grateful. Peter Ross

    3. Hi Denise, Try Stirling in Scotland, West Australia and South Australia, or Alberta, Ontario in Canada, and California - and hope they spelt it right! Did they dot the I?? I'd go for the California option. Otherwise Sterling in Virginia, Pennsylvania, Ohio, New York, Nebraska, Minnesota, Michigan, Massachusetts, Kansas, Illinois, Idaho, Georgia, and Colorado. I just went right through the UK and North American road atlases for you. Good luck! Almina will turn up, I know. 3. Thanks Wendy. It is definitely spelt STIRLING and there is now a Stirling in New Jersey. Almina lived in NJ in 1870. Don't know if it was there in 1870 or not but I have a copy of a advertising flyer which has Almina's name and her sons' name on it (no date) advertising that they were in town, name of street only given, no town and would be glad to teach you painting. They obviously moved around teaching in various towns. I guess I could check Stirling in NJ for the name of this street but it still doesn't tell me where she was in 1880. I guess she will turn up, they always seem to. 3. Kerry, I know you've been working on this website for a while, but that is one classy job Kerry. Congratulations, love the layout and the background colours. As for Crauford, no I've not tried that, but will now with your suggestion. No idea why she would revert to the old old Scottish way of spelling it though. Worth trying Thanks Denise ----- Original Message ----- From: "Kerry" <kerryb@austarnet.com.au> To: <AUS-VIC-HIGH-COUNTRY-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Sunday, September 26, 2004 12:21 PM Subject: Re: [HC] Help/suggestions please > Hi Denise silly question but did you try the alternative for Crawford:- > Crauford (the old way it was spelt) > > Also at last finished my website. yahooooooooooo > http://www.bairdnet.com > > > Kerry > > ----- Original Message ----- > From: "Wendy" <wendyfensom@optusnet.com.au> > To: <AUS-VIC-HIGH-COUNTRY-L@rootsweb.com> > Sent: Sunday, September 26, 2004 10:25 AM > Subject: Re: [HC] Help/suggestions please > > > Hi Denise, > Perhaps the clue lies with the other child? 3. HI Wendy The other child - tried her in the Census in US - no mother mentioned. However another letter has come to light which shows my subject in Stirling (where is the question) in 1877 - still no closer really to my 1880 query. I checked the shipping in 1878 and she's not there with her son either, only in 1888. A gap of 11 years. Where were you ALmina?
