Kerry Edward Kirk born Kilkenny Ireland, arrived Williamstown May 1872 where he went to join his sister Mary at Crooked river, and his sister Catherine at Dargo Flat. After spending seven years at the diggings he was very successful. Then went to Maffra where he bought 320 acres, rented 3000 acres and became a registered grazier. In 1883 he married Mary Ann O'Sullivan, then sold the 3000 acres in 1887 and bought a hotel and 1000 acres at Bullwah near Tallangatta, while still owning the 320 acres near Maffra Sale.
