    3. Hello, I'm new to this list, but not to genealogy, but I need some assistance on what records I may be able to find to discover anything about this person, between 1869 and 1876, who I have good reason to believe may be my gt.grandfather William DODSWORTH. Unassisted Immigration to Victoria Index of Inward Passenger Lists for British, Foreign and New Zealand Ports 1852-1923 Family Name First Name Age Month Year Ship Port Fiche Page DODSWORTH W 29 JUL 1869 GOTHENBURG N 099 001 <d.o.b. ca 1840> Shipping Arrivals to New Zealand from Victorian Ports Dodsworth W Year: 1876 Aged: 36 <d.o.b. ca 1840> Sex: male Marital Status: single Occupation: miner Nationality: English Passenger in: steerage Aboard ³Arawata² Departed from: Melbourne 11 Sep 1876 Arrived: Wellington prov vprs 948 0352109 I have no reason to expect that his mining was limited to Victoria's golden triangle, but I have to start somewhere in Victoria. He didn't marry my gt.grandmother, and there is no death record for him in NZ, or anywhere in Australia that I've been able to find. He is NOT William Innes Dodsworth of South Australia, as I've researched him until I'm blue in the face.. but he does belong to others! Melbourne is a place I often visit, so if I'm pointed in the right direction I can undertake research myself on the next trip at the State Library etc. I just need guidelines as to what to look for outside of BMDs. Thnaks, for any assistance Jools NEW ZEALAND jools@maxnet.co.nz jqqls@hotmail.com
