Hi Lisa, I couldn't find Pierce's death to 1985 in Victoria. Nor could I find a 2nd marriage to 1920 in Vic. I looked in NSW births to 1918 to see if Pierce & Edith has any more children in NSW and I couldn't find any. Pierce's birth was registered as 'Pearce' and his mother's maiden name was Reed/Reid. Also, hop on the GENANZ list and ask for a Rookwood Cemetery (NSW) lookup. It's a stab in the dark, but Pierce Edgar Williams may be buried there.
