Hi Kathy, Eureka uprising - 1854 Ballarat Municipal District - commenced 1855 Ballarat Borough - commenced 1863 Ballarat East Municipal District - commenced 1857 Ballarat East Borough - commenced 1863 Eureka was in Ballarat East but regardless of that there was nothing in Ballarat at the time of the Eureka uprising for someone to be Mayor of. Perhaps this person might have been at Eureka and some years later was a councillor or mayor? Whichever you really need her to give a more accurate name and timeframe. No BATTERBURY or ROFF appear in "The Eureka Encyclopedia" however a ROFF and a Joseph ROFF make a couple of appearances in Withers "History of Ballarat". Far too much to type out but you should be able to access a copy of this book in Adelaide at one of the larger libraries (definitely the state library). Regards ...........
