    3. Joan As well as FreeBMD, which is totally free but incomplete, there are two other subscriber sites. 1837online at http://www.1837online.com/Trace2web/LogonServlet This charges for each "page" from the indexes that is displayed. You buy a number of units and each page is 1 unit. You can only search for a page that "might" contain the name as the index only has the first and last name on the page. The other one is Family Relatives at https://www.familyrelatives.org/treequest/jsp/customer/index.jsp Again it is a page per view and charges 2 units for the index and a further amount to see the image of the original page. The main difference is that they have a completed "every name" index from 1866-1920. Else it is similar to 1837 online. Don't forget that with FreeBMD, as well as the lookup indexes, you can browse through the original index pages - if they are there. A bit painful, but as it's free it's worth trying there first. Ancestry.com or Ancestry.co.uk also has a copy of FreeBMD, plus a complete index for 1984 onwards (as do the other two sites mentioned) Jack -----Original Message----- From: Carmel M Reynen [mailto:fcfibre1@bigpond.com] Sent: 05 October 2005 23:09 To: AUS-VIC-GOLDFIELDS-L@rootsweb.com Subject: Re: Sites for BDM Certificates http://freebmd.rootsweb.com/cgi/search.pl Carmel ----- Original Message ----- From: "Joan Canning" <joannieroannie@bigpond.com> To: <AUS-VIC-GOLDFIELDS-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Wednesday, October 05, 2005 10:05 PM Subject: Sites for BDM Certificates > Hi > > Re emails early last month.
