Judy If you were to purchase one of the children's bth certificates or the marriage cert of this couple it will list his occupation. The marriage cert would be better in telling a little about her as well. A death certificate may also give you his past occupation although sometimes they are listed as gentleman (retired) so not quite as reliable. Labourer is one I hate too because it is such a wide profession.
