    3. Hello List, A big THANK YOU to everyone who replied to my query about John DUNLOP and Sarah HEALY. I was really amazed by the response and all so quick! John Dunlop arrived with the Henty brothers at some point, I'm not sure when. He had been a soldier who reportedly fought at the Battle of Waterloo. He discovered gold at Poverty Point and was also present at the Eureka Stockade. Apparently he went to London to make a petition on behalf of Peter Lalor and met Sarah Healy on the return journey. She arrived on board the ECHUNGA in 1856, a young Irish girl from Wicklow, reportedly pregnant and disowned by her family. As John Dunlop was about 79 at this point, she must have had very limited options, either that or he was aging well as they went on to have at least four children. Dunlop had been married at least three times before and died at the age of 96 after falling from a horse. I was hoping to find a marriage in order to find out a little more about Sarah Healy's origins but it is definitely possible that they didn't marry as I had heard that John Dunlop had sometimes 'neglected' to divorce before remarrying. Sarah Healy however was a devout Catholic so I thought she may have pushed for marriage! I am descended from their daughter Mary Ann born 1858 in Steiglitz but never found a birth certificate for her either. Thank you all again, I really appreciate your time and efforts. Kind regards Maureen
