Does anyone have any information on the following families who settled in Axedale in the 1850s and 1860s? Between them they owned a combined area of over 1000 acres fairly close to the Longlea railway station. Pat McGRATH and his wife, Catherine Normoyle, bought their first block in 1864. His sister Bridget McGrath, and her husband, Michael O'GRADY also bought their first block in the same year. Another sister, Susan McGrath and her husband, William DOHERTY (DOORTY) bought neighbouring properties. Yet another sister, Jane McGrath, and her husband, John McNAMARA , had previously bought a block in 1856 and eventually had about 230 acres. There were also Denis McNAMARA, James O'LOUGHLIN and Daniel O'DEA who may also been related. Tony O'Grady Melbourne
