    3. 27 July 2005 Hi All, Below is an extract I found in the Victorian Government Gazette 1863 which I thought may be of interest to some one. WILFUL MURDER. ONE HUNDRED POUNDS REWARD -FREE PARDON TO AN ACCOMPLICE. WHEREAS on Saturday, the 21st of February last, the body of one David Mullen also known as "Big Davy," was found in a water-hole near Ballaarat, after the lapse apparently of about thirty hours from the time of decease, with the head mutilated and otherwise injured : Notice is hereby given that a reward of One hundred pounds will be paid by the Government for such information as shall lead to the apprehension and conviction of the person or persons guilty of causing the death of the said David Mullen. The Governor will also extend Her Majesty's free pardon to any person implicated in the crime above mentioned, and not being the actual murderer of the deceased, who will give the required information.
