Mitchells at Delatite are major people - including a vineyard in the 1990s and perhaps longer. I've been to Delatitite, a lovely station. Worth remembering Elynne's writing both for her children's horse books and her outdoor works. The SCV and others for pre 1940s are of importance here I suspect. Tom was 'Country Party', essentially right wing rural conservative.
