They had two children born in England, Caroline Ann and George, and a third, Mary Jane, born on board during the voyage. In Australia they settled near Ballarat and eeked out a survival level pittance from the goldfields. Here they had another four children – Selina, Thomas, Robert Leonard, and John; these latter four reportedly being born in Carn. Any information available relating to any of the persons listed would be gratefully received and details I have I will willingly share. Rob Knight Brisbane Hi Rob I have some family members of mine (John and Emily Cock nee Jacka and two children William 5 and Grace 3) also arriving on the Robert Sale, but the date I have is arriving in Melbourne on 5 October 1868. Would it be coincidental that the same ship arrived in the same month exactly 10 years apart, or have one of us got the year wrong?? BTW, the Robert Sale was a wooden barque of 741 tons, built in Burma in 1843 that carried 315 passengers. Cheers Maggie
