thank you Robert, I didn't have the electoral roll information. Robert Mitchell and Catherine are buried together in Ferntree Gully Cemetery. I was also surprised that Thomas Jnr. would name his oldest son after his stepfather. Hints at a story we'll probably never know. There is no certain candidate for the death of thomas Snr, there are at least three possibles. I think the next step has to be to buy the marriage certificate for the marriage of Thomas MOORE and Mary Jane Robinson, although whether it will give us any additional information is questionable.
