    3. Hi, It appears to me that you are fairly new at this research business - so I'll try to help ... first of all ... the names of relatives is always useful - the Births Deaths and Marriages (BDM) indexes may be consulted (by the online volunteesr - sometimes referred to as Some Kind Souls - or SKS) to work out where the people lived and died... some time frames are also very useful - when did these relatives die at Salt Water Creek? and very importantly - where is Salt Water Creek ?? There are numerous examples of different places named Salt Water Creek ... Although it is usually referred to as Salt water River - I'm guessing in this Salt Water Creek refers to the Maribyrnong Footscray region of Melbourne ... and people that lived there may be buried at many different locations? Coburg, Melbourne, Williamstown cemeteries come to mind ... If you have the name of an ancestor of interst then it is usually fairly easy to acquire the death certificate of the person and normally for certificates issued in Victoria the certificate will contain the date and location of the burial ... making research very easy ... If you don't wish to purchase a death certficicate then it is sometimes possible to obtain a death date by first checking the bdm indexes to obtain a year of death and then checking the probate indexes (available on microfiche at many good libraries) - with a little luck - the probate indexes may contain the deceaseds date of death - then it is possible to go to a major library - the State Library of Victoria for example - and check the microfilm of the old newspapers for the time of the death - and with a little more good fortune the deceased may be mentioned in obituaries and possibly even the location of the burial will be mentioned ... for example ... The remains of renowned ladies' man, errol Flynn, were finally put to rest at Coburg general cemetery on 19 September last. Many notable women from about the district attended the mournful procession, crying ansd sobbing. male companions seemed to be of a cheery disposition. So ... good luck ...
