My G-Great grandmother, Catherine Wilsons was born on the "Blue Mountain Goldfield near Kyneton now Trentham" Dec 10th 1863. Her birth was registered on Sept 17th 1864 in Kyneton. I am new to family history research. I was just hoping that someone would have an idea on how I would get more information on the Blue Mountain Goldfield. And if anyone knows if it was common to have such a delay in registering the birth - if that was commonplace? Thankyou Rachel Heaton -- MOB: 0420 508 581 EMAIL: [email protected]
Racheal Have you bought the certificate? Maybe they did not go into Kyneton too often then remmebered they needed to register the baby. There could be a number of reasons. You could try the local historical society for information also Public Record office.
