--Forwarded Message Attachment-- From: [email protected] CC: [email protected] To: [email protected] Date: Sun, 5 Oct 2008 12:19:56 +1000 Subject: Eaglehawk & District Pioneer Register I thought I would pass on details of the Eaglehawk & District Pioneer Registers, as I've received a large number of enquiries since my posting. The authors of these award-winning volumes are in the process of producing a final addendum, and would welcome any contributions to this regarding your Eaglehawk Pioneers. Please forward any information to: [email protected] Additionally, the same email address can be used for further information regarding these volumes. They are of course, available in many libraries. I am happy to do further look-ups regarding Eaglehawk Pioneers to the WA Goldfields, however, will be away in the immediate future and will respond to your requests on my return. And finally, any further requests for the WA Goldfields listing - please send via the Goldfields list, not direct to my private email. They will be responded to via the list. Kind regards, RAELENE PROSSER Hi Raelene I've just seen your message re looking up WA information for people who may have gone to this State, and I'm hoping you'll be able to see if you can find my great grandfather who is lost without trace!! His name was James Henry Eddy, born on 1 June 1866 in Ballarat. He became an engine cleaner and locomotive fireman, married Margaret Dooley and had four sons, Sylvester James b 1892 Talbot, Vincent Henry b 1894 in Stawell, Hilray David b 1896 in Melbourne and Thomas b 1900 in Ballarat. The family story is that he left Margaret after Tom was born and went to WA. He is not listed as a Vic Railway employee past 1900. I haven't been able to locate any info on him until 1916 when Sylvester enlisted for WWI and listed his father as next of kin living in West Melbourne, and again in 1917 when Vincent married and he listed his father as a miner but no address. At this stage James would have been 51. I have been unable to find where James died, and wonder if the family story is correct and he ended up in WA. I would appreciate it if you could check with the records you have available. Many thanks Maggie, Canberra _________________________________________________________________
