    3. Dear listers, If you have used my latest index "Non-issued probates and administrations 1851-1952" which covers part of VPRS 7933/P1 to order one of these invalidated wills or administrations which have been referred to the court system, I was advised today that you cannot order an individual item, but must order a complete unit/box and seek out the number of the item you require in that box. This is because the VPRO have not itemised the cases in their own files. So, where you read unit 31, item 1682 (which is the will of James SHEEHAN of the "West of England" hotel, who died in fitzroy in 1906), you will make a note of the file number (1682) and take this information with you to the search room, but you will order VPRS 7933/P1 and then highlight "unit" instead of "item" and there enter the unit number (31) when you order on-line. If you try to order the item number it will probably tell you "no" and you will think my index is in error!!!!!! So, order the "unit" number only. A plea: please keep these files in their original order. Put a marker in the box where you take out the file you need. They are very tightly packed, and it might be difficult to return the file to its proper place if you have not marked it as you removed it. And a mis-filed file is a lost file! Whilst my index is on-line at the GSV, for others, there is now a printout in the central bookshelves at the VPRO, centre aisle, face the windows, last group on the left at (my) headheight,...probably at chest height for the vertically over-challenged! The group of indexes is marked "COURTS" on a plastic name holder, and here, too are my indexes to equity, habeas corpus, etc. Enjoy. Regards Ada
