Certainly John Kelsall BROWN is as you say but there are eight people with the forename Kelsall on the pioneer index - the other seven of which I have listed below. There, the K in each case is actually Kelsall on the index; there are four other births and three marriages which all include the birthplace of the first mentioned party. Hope this helps Dawn Digger - Pioneer Index. I got a lot of help at that time and a lot of very useful information. I am now hoping that someone may be able to help me clarify information about John Kelsall BROWN. His birth is listed as 1875 and his death was in 1922 aged 46 in Melbourne. JKB was the son of John BROWN and Alice GARLICK. I can find JKB on the Electoral Rolls, showing different addresses, occupation is either Clerk or Bank Clerk. I also found a newspaper article giving details of his death in 1922 at Graham Road, Highett. This article states he was a Bank Clerk. His age is given as 40 not 46. So all the information suggests the same person. However, Graham Road, Highett is not the address on the Electoral Rolls. The Electoral Rolls for 1919 and 1924 (2 years after JKB's death) is 2 Anderson St Melbourne. I accept that the newspaper article may have put the wrong age. However I am a little confused about the address given in the article, when compared to the Electoral Rolls. Why would he have a different address? Why would he appear on the Electoral Rolls 2 years after his death? Perhaps someone has an explanation for this. Maybe I am dealing with two different John Kelsall BROWN's, both born within 7 years of each other. I'm not convinced about this. Does anyone have access to birth records who could look up and see if this is a possibility? I would be very grateful for any help and advice.
