I'm looking for an elusive ancestor - John SIMMERS. B 1829, Tarves, Aberdeen Arrived in Melbourne, Dec 1856 on the Royal Charter Last 'sighted' as witness to the wedding of his brother Robert SIMMERS in Melbourne Feb 1857. Where has he gone? Back to Scotland as did his sister Margaret? To NZ(Otago) as did brother James? Or into NSW (Tumut) as did brother James? One family story says he fell down a mine and was killed. I have checked Death indexes in Scotland, Vic, NSW & WA but have not found him. All help gratefully appreciated Catherine Auckland, NZ
