Hello all I live in Churchill and although all is fine with me, for a while there was a real fear that we would be affected by the bush fires. I have a book case full of family history folders. To hard to decide which to take. My fire plan is to just go. I am insured and while my house is full of 'stuff', there's nothing that isn't replaceable. EXCEPT for my Family History. 10 years research. I thought of packing the computer in the car but what if that burned? Besides it's bulky, heavy and what if time had been an issue? We could see the fire but it wasn't threatening us at the time. I had a 4gig USB stick, (bought Friday for $12 at Harvey Norman) I downloaded my Family Tree to that as well as my whole 'My pictures' Folder I have over 2 gig of photos. I still had room to download my other family history folders. I put the USB in my hand bag, along with my wallet and keys. Fire ready! Cheers, Keep safe. Kaye
