I have been trying to trace for many years what happened to my ancestor John MURRAY a miner John was probably born about 1823 in Paisley Scotland.[.information from the only birth registration that I have found of his children-- of son Andrew..b 1853] John was informant on his wife's [ Jane MURRAY ms Murray]death certificate in April 1883.who died and was buried at Wedderburn He is not in the Wedderburn burial register. I have had a search done for his death in Victoria for another 20 years after this without success. John Murray was still paying rates on land at Bocca Flat in about 1886, after which I have lost track of him. His children that I know of: 1. May Ann b abt1846 Richmond m John SINCLAIR in 1864 but by 1884 was living at Balranald in N.S.W. Mary Ann died in 1911 at Moulamein NSW 2, David Murray b abt 1851 where? 3 Andrew b 1853 Wedderburn 4 Henry b abt 1855 His wife Jane's parents were Thomas MURRAY and Eliza Reynolds..from her death certificate. so I am guessing that 2 of the children MIGHT have his parent's names. They were supposedly married at Scots Church Melbourne in 1844 but I've found no record of that [there seem to be very few marriages recorded there for that year so records are probably missing] I have also no idea at all where the boys ended up..I am a descendant of Mary Ann. I was wondering if perhaps Police Gazettes might be an option? or electoral rolls. Any other ideas? I have so little information about him that a death certificate would be of help . Judy Qld
