Dear Listers I've been using Digger with Vista on my computer with no problems. However it is a Vista 32 bit program. My partner has Vista Ultimate loaded on his laptop and it is a 64-bit program. Therein lies the problem - not all software programs are compatible with the 64-bit version. To check, go into Control Panel and click on System, and this will give you the details of the operating system. My problem was - how do I change my precious Digger programme over to my laptop without risking the loss of the whole thing? No doubt others have also encountered this problem. The main difficulty I found is that if Digger is on a PC with Windows XP (as ours was), then transferring it to my laptop with Windows Vista is fraught with problems as there are compatibility issues. Thank you Microsoft! What this meant for me was that I could transfer the data via a memory stick, but the programme to read the data would not transfer. Net result - the whole series of Digger files was on my laptop with no means of accessing them! However, I have ascertained that Macbeth, who published Digger as you know, are well aware of this issue, and there is an update to Digger that may solve this problem. So - fear not, if this is a problem you have encountered, check the update on the Macbeth website and you may find that this will be all you need to transfer and access your Digger files. So give it a try before you sink into the depths of despair...
