Hi Valerie Craigie is very close to Maryborough. Still there, about ten houses only these days. The old school closed over 50 years ago, maybe 70 or more, and is now - or was, about four or five years back, a private home. It took about 7 mins to drive into the heart of Maryborough when I was there looking at the old school when it was for sale about five years ago. (we did not buy it.) It is not all that much further from Talbot either - totally the opposite direction - and about the same from Majorca - which has ruins and again about five families living there. A creek is nearby - think McCallums Creek - you might want to look at that area too - probably only about 300 yds away! I am sure all of these places were thriving with gold, but once it stopped for whatever reason, people would have moved away and I think they are all pretty well "ghost" towns / areas nowadays. Maryborough and Talbot would be the places I would look - and maybe Carisbrook. Googlemap them and you will see how close they all are.
