Hello Listers Yesterday I briefly visited the Maldon Museum/Family History centre. After a clue from a family member I CONFIRMED that my (Walter and) Mary Ann OSBORNE family had their children Percival (Percy), George and Arlington enrolled at the Porcupine School and then later in the year at the Maldon School. Is any lister able to help me with any further information on this family please. I am confused but will explain! On the document ‘Enrolments for Maldon School’ it states: date...month...year...details of parents.............surname = MC PHERSON Given Name = Mary Residence = North Maldon Occupation = Domestic Her surname is actually OSBORNE. Would the name McPHERSON possibly be the name of teacher enrolling, or perhaps Mary OSBORNE worked for the McPhersons as a domestic? (I suddenly wondered if Mary may have married again but she died and is buried under her married name of Mary Ann OSBORNE in Melbourne) Not sure where her husband Walter OSBORNE is at this stage???!! Maybe gold prospecting? What a pretty place the Goldfields region is. Had a lovely time driving around but sadly I’m flying back to New Zealand on Saturday morning Thank you for any assistance.
