Do you have a birth year for Martha?

Hi Barb No I don't have a birth date. Her husband James Hackett was born in 1861 in Blows Flat so Martha could have been born around that time. Do you have the marriage cert? Sounds as though it might be worth getting, if you haven't done so already. It should give more information on where Martha was born and who her parents were. Parents' names would assist greatly in identifying her death. If you don't already have it, marriage registration number is 2593. It's also worth remembering that information given on death registrations is sometimes in error. Death registrations of babies were often done by close relatives (I have one baby in the family whose death was registered by his aunt who did it in her own married name, rather than her sister's), and sometimes they weren't clear about the facts. Or Martha may have given the information herself but was a bit muddled in her grief and gave her own mother's name. Cheers Barbara
