    3. Dear Listers, I am seeking information on Patrick KELLY son of John Joseph KEELY and Elizabeth Anne WHITTA born in Arrarat Victoria in 1878. The next document that I can locate is his Army Enlistment to the 7th Battalion in January 1915' The document is stamped deceased. The nominal war1 record shows KIA 8/9 August 1915. The battalion withdrew from Gallipoli in December 1915. In his enlistment details he describes himself as a resident of Ararat; miner and widower. His next of kin is noted as his daughter Aileen also a resident of Ararat. I am unable to find records of his marriage, or his wife and/or daughters, death. Any kind soul that can assist would be greatly appreciated Regards Bill from Cairns

    3. Hi Bill Its Janet again, I just looked at the war documents and noted that Patrick's medals were to go to his mother a Mrs E Kelly at Campbell st Ararat so it looks like we are on the right track. His daughter Aileen had died from Influenza pneumonia in 1919 and his father died in May 1920 so this gives us a bit more to work with. It also stated there were no other living children. Also seen in one spot that his daughter is Aileen Alma Kelly. I will keep searching for you with this little bit more info. 3. Bill, Im pretty sure I have located Patricks wife. She was Annie Oconnor and they were married in Victoria in 1901. Annie is noted as the mother of Aileen and Patrick as father on Ancestry.com. Aileen Alma Kelly was born about 1902, death 1919 Carlton aged 17. Havent been able to find Annies death as yet but Im still working on it. Off to bed now so I will continue tomorrow.
