    3. Assuming he fought in the First World War his personnel file will be on the National Archives of Australia site and can be downloaded free of charge. It will contain his medical records while in service. If he served in WWII I think you would need to establish next of kin status.     3. I think you'll find only abbreviated details on the NAA Files. My father was in the Great War and survived but there is a separate medical file that covers the period after discharge. I seem to recall that was available from SCMA at Vic Barracks in Melbourne but you might be better off to contact Vet Affairs as the Repat Dept is now known.
