Hi Listers, Hope everyone had a happy festive season now we can get back to our "time detective" persuits. My families of interest are: Gunn Branson Crockett/itt John percival Crockett has been my bugbear for many years. He arrived in the golfields sometime in the 1870's, married Pamela Branson in 1879, in 1893 he turns up in Tasmania as the manager of a butter factory in Launceston having packed the first shipment of butter to the UK, in 1900 as butter factory manager in Kangaroo Valley Nsw. He was an accomplished musician and died with his clarinet in his hand in Sydney 1903. He and Pamela had 11 children the youngest being my grandmother. He signed his name with a flourish and always spelled his name Crockitt. On his marriage certificate he states he was born in Stratford Bow London, parents being John and Sarah Nee Mayo Crockitt. Would love to know when he arrived in our country and on which ship. regards Margaret Loiterton
