Hello All Thankyou to all those who assisted helped in my search John Cousins was not mentioned in any of the Dunolly Books. I hope I have thanked each of you individually. Lyn Schryver Western Australia
Dear Lyn, dont know how you went with your query but I have been hard pressed to find a reprint after the 1980 one but they seem to think there was at the info centre ??? Cant imagine the 1980s still selling in the 2000's though. What did you find out ?? As I am thinking that maybe they are thinking of Flett's Maryborough book which I know was reprinted later on. regards Lois ----- Original Message ----- From: "Trevbabe" <trevbabe@gmail.com> To: "Lyn Schrvyver" <schryver@iinet.net.au> Cc: <AUS-VIC-GOLDFIELDS-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Friday, March 11, 2011 2:29 PM Subject: Re: JAMES FLETT >I have a copy of the '74 edition. Hi Listers ------------------------------------------- A reminder from Rod McErval The communities of Waterloo and Chute are still in the process of researching the history of the area to publish a book in 2013. We are holding an information gathering day on Sunday April the 10th starting at 1pm at the Beaufort RSL rooms in Willoby st Beaufort. Please bring along your history where we can copy it and scan any photos you might have. Our author Mr Hugh Carroll will be in attendance. So far we have been able to contact nearly 100 people who's past family members were once part of this thriving gold mining area. Further info - Rod McErvale 0429497230 or email Rod <myalong@beauforts.own.net.au> or website http://www.waterloo.org.au/ ------------------------------------------ Regards Daryl Povey

Hi Listers, Please excuse cross-posting as I didn't find this site until after I had posted this message on the general Victorian site. I am researching the Rogers family of Kyneton, from whom I am descended. Joseph Rogers married Hannah Little at Burbank in 1848 and his business partner, Robert Harper married Hannah's sister Sarah Ann. I have come across a reference on line which says that Rogers and Harper sold their shop to "their sister-in-law Caroline Chisholm and her husband Captain Archibald Chisholm". Unfortunately the email address on the article is no longer valid so I am not able to clarify this information. Try as I might I cannot link Joseph Rogers, formerly from Hertfordshire, to Caroline Chisholm nee Jones, daughter of William Jones of Northampton. I presume the link must be through Hannah Little. Her mother appears to have been an Allen or Allem. Can anyone shed light on this situation please, as I am most interested to know if the family really was related to Caroline Chisholm. Thanks for your interest, Marie in Sydney.

Hi Carole, The 1975 date fits. The letter I found in the envelope accompanying the material was dated November 1978, so I assume the Shire Secretary had a stock of them. I don't regard it as a booklet, however, as it is really foolscap sheets stapled in one corner. Might be worth another look at the SLV catalogue.
