    3. Thank you Gaylene, That is the family, you have just filled in some of the gaps for me. John Percy always signed his name with an itt always dotting the "i", but seems mostly to be recorded as ett. During some of my research his sated birthplace becomes dodgy, on his marriage cert. he says he comes from Stratford le Bow, but I have found the itt's come from Tring?? I have found no entry into Aust. for him so have decided to find out all I can about him and it may lead to something. Checked the appropriate census in UK but have not found him or his parents John and Sarah nee Mayo. Thank you again Margaret of Oakey

    3. Hi Listers, Thank you to Gail, Rowena, Susan, Norman, Bev, and Tom for your response and advise. Ballarat is not on the itenery as far as I know the Crocketts never went there which I found unusual Susan but you never know. Yes Norman I knew about John Percy's death he died with his clarinet in his hand from a heart attack on his way home from playing in the Tivoli in Sydney. Maldon is not on our itinery either, being a "girls own adventure" my daughter has mapped out the course (she is a scout leader??) but there still could be infomation there. Whroo has I know so will visit the history centre there. Thank you again for all your encouragement, you have made me more anxious to get going. Margaret of Oakey

    3. Good morning listers, After wishing and hoping for the last 40yrs I am finally on my way on Thurs 8th from Qld to the goldfields to follow the route my ggrandmother took with her husband and visiting all the 12 towns where she had her babies. Am looking forward to gathering more information of their daily lives and treading the paths they trod, hoping to find out more about my ggrandfather who is a bit of a mystery. John Percy Crockett "look out!" He worked for the Goulburn Valley Butter Co. so hope there is some info still out there there is nothing available online. Maybe I will meet a lister. 1. Charles HARRIS 1898 - 1913 Canon of Christ Church Cathedral - Ballarat,
    2. Somers
    3. Hello Listers In 1909, Canon Charles HARRIS of Hamilton,Vic married Emily OSBORNE (nee DRURY) of Maryborough, Vic in the Chapel of Bishopscourt, Ballarat (I have their Marriage Certificate). Emily is my gr.gr.aunt (his second wife) Some time in the period 1900 to 1908, Charles HARRIS lost his first wife. Unfortunately I can’t read the date. The Marriage Certificate states that Charles had 3 living and 1 deceased child at the time of his second marriage in Oct 1909. Looking for the name of Charles’s first wife please, and where she is buried in Ballarat. There is a burial at the Ballarat Cemetery for a HARRIS, no given name, Sept 1906. This could well be her as I can’t see anything else around this period of time. Also looking for the names of any of his children who may have been born in NSW, but possibly Victoria. A daughter was named May (confirmed in the Death Notice of Charles who died in Sydney in 1934 at the age of 91yrs ) Charles HARRIS was born in O’Connell, NSW, Australia in 1847 Father Henry, a grazier Mother Mary A HURLEY They were married in 1841, Abercrombie District, Bathhurst, NSW Moved to Victoria about 1881 with his Clergy duties. Thank you for any help. Sandra Auckland, New Zealand

    1. Patrick FAHEY
    2. Anne Lemon
    3. 'Morning List, I am looking for information on the death of Patrick FAHEY/FAHY, born about 1842 in Tipperary, married Honora FAHY in Carisbrook in 1865. Parents shown as Philip FAHEY and Mary CLAY (could be CLARY or something similar). Honora (Norah) died in Alma in 1882, buried in Maryborough Cemetery, but there is no record of Patrick being buried there. There was an enquiry held before a Justice of the Peace when Norah died - can anyone advise where I might find details of that enquiry? Anne Lemon, from a very quaky Canterbury, NZ

    3. I checked all the Vic bmd indexes - no sign of him. Not even one possibility. I used both la fol*y and lafol*y, and put them in both the surname and the father's surname fields. Someone might find him on the inquest etc cds. Or the mining accidents list looed after by I think Dave Evans. 3. I am trying to find anything I can about an ancestor, Francis Lafolley, who arrived in South Australia in 1850 and the next identification of him I have made is in a newspaper report from The Star (Ballarat) in 1857 indicating he was a defendant in a Supreme Court Case regarding a quartz crushing machine at Mount Egerton to be sold. This is on the Trove digitised newspapers website. I am wondering if there are any listings of people on the goldfields at that time, and if there is any record of him in death records. I have not been able to find anything in the cemetery records on line. Any help on where I can search would be appreciated. Regards Josephine Eatts
