    3. Keith, seems to be a bit quiet in response to your query. I had a quick look and drew a blank with both the deaths of Charles Brown and his wife Jane Brown. I did find their 6 possibly 7 children (5 born Whroo and 2 in Melbourne). A total of 3 children died young, and interestingly I couldnt find any marriages for the living children. Perhaps the family moved to another state after 1867. Interestingly I did find a brother for Charles- Henry Edward Brown who died in Eaglehawk, Victoria in 1895 (5272) aged 74 years. His parents were Henry Brown and Mary Bailey. Let me know what other responses may have turned up. 3. Hi everyone :) Peter has very kindly pointed out my blonde day, i.e. this can't possibly be Keith's Charles BROWN because of the approximate year of birth when you work back from this death date. Keith, I'm going to keep looking on my AVRIs and other Vic CDs I've got, shall let you know if I find anything else. That'll teach me to do things in a hurry, won't it? Now I've got egg on my face; fortunately I don't embarrass easily and I CAN laugh at myself!! ;D Take care, Rob. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Robyn Leeds" <honey@honeyshome.com> To: <AUS-VIC-GOLDFIELDS-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Monday, August 01, 2005 8:29 PM Subject: Re: LOOK - UPS please. > Hi Peter :) > > I answered Keith offlist, I should've done that onlist, ooops!! 1. RICHARDSON Bendigo
    2. Daniel and Phillip
    3. Hello, I am a new subscriber and I shall begin by posting my research interests in the Goldfields. I am researching the RICHARDSON family of Bendigo. Cuthbert Ridley RICHARDSON was born in Newcastle-on-Tyne, England in 1847. He died in Bendigo on 3 Oct 1895. He immigrated with his parents, Moses and Annette (nee BOUCHER) to Victoria in 1850. Cuthbert married Mary BAMFORD (born Gent, Belgium 1843) in Dandenong in 1868, and they settled in Bendigo. Cuthbert worked as a General Dealer/Store Keeper. He is buried in Bendigo Cemetery. I have discovered two sons of Cuthbert and Mary - another Cuthbert Ridley RICHARDSON (b. Bendigo 1869), and a James Edward RICHARDSON (b. Bendigo 1873). The RICHARDSON's were living at Carpenter Street, Sandhurst, at the time. These two brothers both ended up in South Perth in Western Australia. James Edward became a police constable, and his son, Cuthbert John Alfred RICHARDSON (born Meltham, Victoria 1898) became Assistant Commissioner of the Western Australian Police in the 1950's. Many of the RICHARDSON descendents are still Police Officers in Western Australia. There is a park and a road named after this family near the Perth Zoological Gardens. James RICHARDSON and his family lived in the Zoo following his discharge from the police due to ill health. They also ran the South Perth hot baths in Richardson Park, opposite the Zoo, in the 1920's. I would be happy to hear from others with similar research interests. Can anyone tell me where Meltham is in Victoria - is it near Bendigo? Daniel Winters Cooloongup Western Australia
