Kaye, Since John Litster was a patient at Clifton Hill Lunatic Asylum (another name for Yarra Bend), the names of his parents should be shown in the Asylum record books (held at PRO Vic) provided that his admission was arranged by his family (but possibly not if he had been "dumped"). It used to be mandatory for an inquest to be held for every person who died in a Lunatic Asylum. You should be able to find his entry in the Victoria inquests index (on microfiche) and view his file (held at PRO Victoria). Walter
