Hi, Can anyone help with the following, Trying to put together life for Leah and Richard Sweetnam when they lived in Maffra. Leah owned the Maffra Hotel at one stage. George Smart was a busy miner in Cassilis and Tongio West. He had four mining leases at Swifts Creek The Lord of the Hills, The Shamrock, The Chance and the Little Wonder plus another four leases at Swifts creek known as Smarts claims. Hi Sue, I never let an opportunity go by..... I am researching the KEMP family who lived and died at Willung, near Rosedale. William & Letitia Kemp (nee Kemp also) were from Ireland and settled in Gippsland around 1890+ They had 5 children all born in Sth Australia: Robert James b 1869, Charles Thomas b 1871, Ellen b 1873, Mary Ann b 1875 and Letitia b 1877 I have Robert James tabbed but have largely lost the others. Any relation??
