Hi all, Reposting my interests. John WILLIAMS b. c. 1831 in Cape Town, South Africa (possibly Welsh origin) d. 6 May 1901 in Warragul (Timber splitter and farmer) m. April 26 1873 at Eaglehawk, to Mary Ann DAVIES / DAVEY b. c 1818 in South Petherton, Somersetshire, England d. 20 May 1877 in Bendigo, Victoria m. 30 July 1877 at Eaglehawk, Victoria to Ellen McGINNIS / McGUINESS / McGINNESS b. 21 Jan 1859 in Eaglehawk Flat d. 9 January 1918 in Castlemaine. On Ellen's MC her parents were listed as John HEYBURN/McGINNIS and Johanna HAYES or HEYBURN Her DC lists her parents as John McGINNIS and Johanna McGINNIS (HAYES). I think John HEYBURN changed his surname to McGINNIS. I have not been able to find Ellen's BC or origin of mother Johanna HAYES although there are many possibilities. Children born in Bendigo area: (1) Sarah Ann McGinnis / McGinness b. 16 Feb 1877 in Kangaroo Paddock, Marong d. 19 Sept 1882 in Melbourne (2) Mary Ann Phenolif / Phenoly WILLIAMS b. 24 Oct 1878 in Burnt Gully, Marong m. Joseph Marshall DUCKWORTH in Sydney in 1904 (who died in 1913 at Geelong) and then married Robert Gustav KIEPERT in 1913 at Geelong. The rest of the family then moved to Warragul c. 1877.
