    3. Hi Everyone (especially Carol and Liz D) I have given up trying to follow these, but here is a bit more: I have already written offlist to Carol about finding Simeon Napper and C and J Napper in Winnindoo (right on some of the best Heyfield land, near the station). They appear to have made land freehold in the 1870s and 1880s. So that puts them out between Heyfield and Cowwarr. However, the entry for Charles Napper in Victoria and its Metropolis includes: born Somersetshire, arr. 1854 Tasmania, spent six years there, came to Victoria via Port Albert, remained in South Gippsland for six years, grazing, farming and butchering with his brother [Linda says - is this where Simeon fits in?]. In 1866 removed to North Gippsland, purchased land near Sale. [This is Drayton, at Napper's Corner, which all Sale/Stratford locals know]. Was councillor on Avon Shire etc. If this is the line in which you are interested, Drayton is also written up extensively in Gippsland Estate 1880 9or similar title). However I think you are interested in the Simeon line, not the Charles Napper line - possibly you could confirm. I suspect most of the Napper information you will be offered will relate to the ones from Drayton, not the ones from Winnindoo. Now, we come to the Williamsons. In Victoria and its Metropolis, James Williamson (this is the one married to the Clyne), says he was born in Caithness and arrived in Victoria in 1853, and spent first ten years in Geelong, then moved to Tinamba. From various notes I have, as stated one daughter married Greenup Osborn, another married one of the Allardyces. Now Liz, another son was David, the unmarried one, who had a hut about the same spot as the Turpins at north Glenmaggie - also from Geelong, if you remember, like your Gells. I just hadn't picked up that the Williamsons were in the Geelong group as well - and now I find you seem to know them as well. So are the Gells somehow connected to the Williamsons as well??? (For locals, this group also includes the Williamsons of Glencairn). Now, if anyone out there is going blurry-eyed trying to follow all these - don't worry - it would take me weeks to explain, and hopefully Liz followed the last bit, and this I think, may confirm for Carol that this Willliamson group is not her group. 3. Hi Linda There was a John Williamson who was Exiled to Oz in 1848 aboard the Anna Maria, landed at Pt Henry Geelong. In the book From these Beginnings stats, "John Williamson and William Brearley of Tarraville had a tannery from 1849". Maybe there is a connection to your Williamson Kind Regards Kevin Brearley. My records have Margaret CLYNE (my GGG Aunt) m Walter Grieve WILLIAMSON 1859 and their daughter Elizabeth m Greenup OSBORN 1882. This conflicts with your notes above saying James WILLIAMSON was married to a CLYNE. Can you clarify?
