Hi Everyone, Just a quick note to say there is going to be a Book and Antique Fair at Maffra (to raise money for charity). It will be 24th and 25th Feb, and they are actively looking for local history publishers to be there. If you have published a book and are interested in attending, give Pingvin a ring on 5147 2135, or e-mail at [email protected] In passing, for those who have not been to Maffra for a while, Pingvin (which used to be a craft shop) has moved across the road and become a second-hand bookshop. They are also carrying as many new and second-hand local books as they can find - at the minute they do have a few very out-of-print Gippsland Heritage Journals, for example, and do have copies of "Church of our fathers" (someone was after that). If you are looking for more details of the Book and Antique Fair, I will get proper times and put them in my blog - see my signature for a URL. I have started blogging, and may be throwing out some occasional Gippsland History in there that will not make it to this list. blogs, for those who have not met them, are weblogs - a sort of online diary usually from one person's perspective, although comments are usually welcomed. I am currently working Mondays in the local collection at the Maffra library, for example, and I will probably be musing on the types of records to be found in there. regards Linda http://kapana.blogspot.com/
In re the above and your reference to out of print copies of GHJ. I have a complete set to No. 27 - I think that was the last to be published. Are there plans for any more? the older of the tworobbos
Dear Peter, You can watch the blog (I think this would be a little repetitive for listers) *grin* #28 is at the printers. Hang on to your #1 (and this goes for any others out there). Pingvin have $150 on their #1, and I know of them being stolen from libraries.
