    3. Good afternoon. I'm new to this list and am hoping someone knows of the name I am chasing. Horatio StewarT (usual way) sometimes seen as StewarD arrived in the gold rush years from Maine USA. I have little of his movements but tracking another member of his family - cousin - I have found that he was in the area of what was then referred to as Gibneys or Gidney's Bridge on the McAllister River - 18 miles from Stockyard. It was here that Horatio was found by a friend of his cousin's which I have retrieved from a Diary. It was December 1865. There is no other reference to Horatio. What was happening in 1865 in Gibneys Creek - was it gold? Was it a farming area? Horatio married Mary Ann O'Brien in 1862 in Melbourne and he gave his occupation as Farmer. He was 38. So putting two and two together and getting most likely 6, I really only have this one lead at the moment that he may have been a farmer in the area above. I have a death which I feel is his in 1875 in Kew. Would anyone have anything which shows Horatio the elusive, as being in the area, or anywhere at all really (g)? regards Denise
