    3. Hi Walter and all those interested in YBLA. I too have a rellie, Mary Ann Denten, who spent time at the asylum and died there in January 1918 at the age of 65. She was buried in Glenmaggie cemetery, which is where her younger sister lived (Glenmaggie that is, not the cemetery <vbg>). Like Elaine, I would also be very interested in any info. on the asylum that you would be kind enough to impart. From info. I have gathered so far, Mary Ann never married and towards the end of her life she spent time in the Geelong Infirmary and the Benevolent Asylum, before being admitted to Yarra Bend. Hilda Gell-Phayer in her book "Pioneer Child" mentions being sent to look after an aunt in Geelong who was ill in about 1904. It doesn't mention the aunt's name, but I believe that it may have been Mary Ann. TIA, Liz
