    3. Thanks Anne, funny that mine has no date - I know it was the first edition. Cheers Philippa -----Original Message----- From: aus-vic-gippsland-bounces@rootsweb.com [mailto:aus-vic-gippsland-bounces@rootsweb.com] On Behalf Of Anne Napier Sent: Friday, 5 October 2007 1:02 PM To: aus-vic-gippsland@rootsweb.com Subject: Re: [AVG] The Heart Philippa, Inside the back cover of my copy of the original book, it says it was printed by James Yeates & Sons, Bairnsdale, Nov 1965, Aug 1966, Oct 1968 and Jun 1972. According to the Introduction in the new version, the original book was compiled in 1965. And the other thing was, it has no date of publication either! Does anyone know when it was published? It would have been in the mid sixties I think. 3. Dear All, >From Don Watson's 'Caledonia Australis': 'Another member of the Irish ascendancy called William Montgomery...settled on land adjoining Thomsons's Clydebank and stretching to Lake Wellington....The station he managed was called The Heart, perhaps because it was the heart of Gippsland, perhaps because it was there that a band of squatters believed they found a heart drawn upon the ground just after they scattered a group of Aborigines.'
