The Seventh Annual Maffra Historical Society Luncheon will take place on Monday 3rd September at 12 midday for 12.30 at Tinamba Guest Speaker is Anne Wilson, whose father was a travelling picture showman in New Zealand, hence her interest in picture shows and rural communities. She has lived in Gippsland for a number of years and been studying for her PhD at Monash University Gippsland. Her thesis, entitled "From Talkies to Television: Picture Shows in Gippsland, 1930-1956", will form the basis of her talk. Bookings are required by Thursday 30th August.
