Hi Richard Your comment: It would be nice if there was an on-line repository where people could donate copies of their own historic images of places, and where they can be made freely available to other researchers and storytellers. Just dreaming, I suppose. Have thought about this from time to time especially when I find some photographs of my own that I would be willing to share with those of like mind! As time wears on, even images in our own lifetime will become historical; fire, flood and vermin take their toll along with the pulling down and re-building. Things that we have taken for granted just slowly disappear. My folk were from Warragul/Drouin and I have very little in photographic from their era. What is available publicly may or may not have a connection to them and the repositories want/need a large sum rightly or wrongly for their coffers. Problem is, as always, there will be those that take and do not give which sort of spoils the whole idea? Cheers Viv P.S. Do you have any connection to Bendigo? Your name sounds familiar. .
