    3. CHARLES RUSSELL, storeman, Maffra, reports stolen at Maffra, on the 10th ult., a raleigh bicycle, No. 993, no brake, guard over back wheel, front tyre worn on one side. Value £13.-0.9289. 21st November, 1896. GEORGE MILLER, labourer, " The Clippings," Sale, reports stolen from his swag, a leather purse bag, containing £12 lOs, in gold, a cheque for 16s. 6d., drawn by D. C. McDonald on the Commercial Bank , Maffra, and same silver.- February 1890. 1898. W. E. GIBSON, cattle dealer, Gippsland, reports that at about Three a.m., on the 30th ult., a thrashing machine, lying at the Maffra Railway Station, was wilfully set fire to, thereby destroying the inner portion of the machine, and doing damage to the extent of from £80 to £90.-0.7664. 28th September, 1898. ROBERT BOWMAN.-A warrant of commitment has been issued by the Maffra Bench against Robert Bowman for default of payment of £5 7s. 6d., for assault. Description :-Victorian, labourer, 17 years of age, 5 feet 5 or 6 inches high, stoutish build, very fresh fair complexion ; wore blue dungaree pants, dark tweed sac coat, and soft-felt hat, rim bent down over ears.
