Hi there listers, A query: Can anyone tell me if the AMEY family of Morwell (in 1894) had Chinese background or UK ? I'm drawing off those of Chinese background in the "Non-issued probates" to send to the Bendigo Chinese Museum for their database, to which I have contributed previously. Hi Ada and Others, Flo Pearce, highly esteemed historian now of Maffra, comes down from the AMEY family of Upper Maffra, of whom this may be a branch. I cannot think where they are from in England, but they are definitely not Chinese. I can eliminate him, then But I'll pass on the information to the list to be passed on to Flo Pearce, info taken from "Non-Issued Probates" VPRS 7933/P1 Unit 1 item 15, non-issued will & probate of John Keith AMEY, gentleman, of Morwell North, died 2 Jan 1894.
