Hi all, A relative recently sent me a copy of the Bulletin of the Maffra and District Historical Society and Stratford DHS (Vol 18 No 65 June 1990) in which were published letters written by two of our Sullivan cousins, Gerald and Daniel. The letters were sent from Gallipoli to their mother in Newry. In the introduction to the article "Letters from the front", it was stated that "apparently it was the custom during the First World War for the Maffra Spectator to publish letters sent home from the front". My relative used the "museum's newspaper records to find the information" Is there an index to the Maffra Spectator? I want to see if a letter from John Boland, or James Boland, of Tinamba was published. If down Maffra way, where would I find these newspapers? The letters are very moving, written on 25th April 1915, 20th July 1915 and 27 July 1915. Thanks Marion
