Dear listers, I descend via Esther VARNEY and Jesse HASTHORPE. I have been researching Joseph VARNEY and his family's time on the Monaro and wonder if anyone on the list has information relating to this period and immediately prior. I believe he went on to the Monaro about 1839 and held leases there until about 1846/7 when he trekked overland to Gippsland. I've got the lease applications and have got close to pin-pointing the location of the run between Berridale and Jindabyne. I'm happy to exchange this - off the list - with anyone with an interest in the VARNEY's. I have all the birth dates and death dates but I'm interested in info about the VARNEY family in the 1830s and 1840s. Also, does anyone have any photos of the Varneys? Regards Janda Gooding
